about

I made this album in Atlanta right after I graduated from art school in Milwaukee. It was a weird time emotionally - and - also my 1st time recording with a DAW (digital audio workstation)... In this case Pro-Tools.

I am really proud of all the production bells and whistles I put into recording this, but the subject matter is a little awkward. I was listening to a lot of Prince, NIN, and Marilyn Manson while reading an unhealthy amount of Greek and Roman Mythology.

Although sonically, I think this album is spot on - the content is hard to navigate. At the time, I likely thought I was pushing the envelope of good taste and doing so was "cool". Listening to it now, I view this record as a purging of the juvenile ideas I had about what rock-n-roll lyrics should consist of.

I prefer a sense of humor and the use of camp and fun to celebrate different genre's of music. I suppose where this album lacks in a mature understanding of one's art, it makes up for in obsessive consideration to sound.
